Cooperators & Friends

People who complete the 3-day Coverts Training are called Cooperators, so named to reflect our commitment to peer-to-peer support and cooperation. There are over 800 Cooperators who have influenced forestry and wildlife stewardship practices on over 300,000 acres of Vermont woodlands.

If you’re interested in talking to another Vermont landowner about what it means to manage your woods with wildlife in mind, contact our office and we’ll connect you with a Cooperator near you. Cooperators are eager to share their experiences with other landowners.

“We wanted to work with a forester after talking with Jack (a VT Coverts Cooperator). He really opened our eyes to the many goals that can be reached by a management plan.”

Congratulations to the Fall 2025 class!

Friends of Coverts

Many people who are interested in forest management that enhances wildlife habitat, but who have not attended the Cooperator Training, support Vermont Coverts and attend our other educational events. They are known as Friends of Coverts, and we deeply appreciate their participation and support of this important mission.
